Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 16, 2026

Veranote exists to help you stay present in meetings. That only works if you can trust what happens to the conversations you capture. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it’s handled.

What we collect

  • Account information. Your email address and account settings, used to create and secure your account.
  • Meeting content you create. Recordings, transcripts, notes, tasks, and the people, projects, and groups you organize them with.
  • Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Basic usage and diagnostics. Information that helps us keep the service reliable, such as error reports you choose to send.

How your audio is handled

  • Recording only happens when you start it. Veranote shows a clear indicator whenever a meeting is being captured.
  • Audio recordings are stored locally on your Mac.
  • While a meeting is in progress, audio is streamed over an encrypted connection to our speech-to-text provider to produce your live transcript. It is not used to build advertising profiles.

AI processing

When you use AI features — summaries, notes, task extraction, or workspace chat — the relevant transcript or note content is sent over an encrypted connection to our AI processing providers to generate the result. Your content is used to serve your request, not to train third-party models under our provider agreements.

Third-party services we rely on

  • Speech-to-text for live transcription.
  • AI model providers for notes, summaries, and chat.
  • Supabase for account authentication and synced workspace data.
  • Stripe for payments and subscription management.

Your responsibilities when recording

Laws about recording conversations vary by region, and many require the consent of participants. You are responsible for making sure you have any consent required before recording a meeting with Veranote.

Data retention and deletion

Your notes, transcripts, and tasks remain in your workspace until you delete them. Recordings live on your device and can be deleted at any time. If you want your account and associated data removed, contact us at support@veranote.app and we’ll take care of it.

Security

Data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Access to production systems is restricted, and we follow the principle of collecting only what the product needs to function.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update this page and note the new effective date above.
